English to Dutch translations [Non-PRO] Art/Literary
English term or phrase:hopelijk..moet maar ff kijken op het bureau
hopelijk..moet maar ff kijken op het bureau
waarschijnlijk staat ie dan daar
Explanation: Hopefully... but I (briefly) have to check what's on the desk, it's probably on there(, then).
Since there is no subject, this could either be you/I. 'ff' is a popular abbreviation for effe, even, which means briefly. It's not used quite as often in English as it is in Dutch though, so I'd leave it out. Some goes for 'dan'.
Bureau can have 2 meanings, either desk or office. So if it would refer to an office, the translation would be:
Hopefully... but I (briefly) have to check at the office, it's probably standing there (then).
