The XXX Fund will select one of the following options – which can change over time:
(a) a funded performance swap (the “Funded Performance Swap” or, collectively, “Funded Performance Swaps”) entered into with a First Class Institution such as YYYY (acting through its London Branch), acting as the swap counterparty (the “Swap Counterparty”). The purpose of the Funded Performance Swap is to replicate a funded exposure to the Index. The XXXX Fund shall enter into such Funded Performance Swaps in accordance with the advice of the Investment Manager on an arm’s length basis; or
(b) an un-funded performance swap (the “Un-Funded Performance Swap” or, collectively, “Un-Funded Performance Swaps”) entered into with a First Class Institution such as the Swap Counterparty. It is intended that the Sub-Fund’s portfolio of assets will be invested mainly in equities and other securities classed as equities, Money Market Instruments, money market funds, negotiable debt instruments and debt or interest rate instruments, synthetic Money Market Instruments (i.e. equities and/or fixed income securities which performance is exchanged against Money Market Instruments linked performance), bonds and other debt instruments. The purpose of the Un-Funded Performance Swap is to exchange the performance of the Sub-Fund’s portfolio against the performance of the Index.

Martijn, het lijkt me dat de woorden in jouw tekst toch zijn omgedraaid, dus dat je het zelf in eerste instantie goed schreef: swap performance (en niet performance swap).

Bij 'performance swaps' gaat het klaarblijkelijk om het uitruilen/swappen van de prestaties van (de onderliggende assets van) een fonds/subfonds tegen de performance van de index.
Voor een uitleg en het verschil tussen 'funded swaps' en 'unfunded swaps' zie onderstaande Nederlandstalige info :-)

De belangrijkste beleggingsdoelstelling van de Subfondsen is om voor de Participatiebewijshouders een rendement te genereren dat is gekoppeld aan de performance van de betreffende Onderliggende Index (...).

Om de beleggingsdoelstelling te realiseren, zal het Subfonds een of meer derivatencontracten in de vorm van swaps aangaan. Het Subfonds heeft daarbij de keuze uit een van de volgende mogelijkheden (deze kunnen na verloop van tijd veranderen):
Optie 1 – Unfunded/asset swaps: het Subfonds (i) belegt de nettoopbrengst uit de inschrijvingen op Participaties in het Subfonds in overdraagbare effecten en overige daarvoor in aanmerking komende vermogenswaarden (...).
Het doel van de Asset Swap is om de rendementen op de betreffende
Vermogenswaarden van het Subfonds uit te ruilen tegen de prestaties van de betreffende Onderliggende Index. Dit betekent dat het Subfonds en uiteindelijk de Participatiebewijshouders geen recht hebben op inkomsten uit de Vermogenswaarden van het Subfonds.

Optie 2 – Funded swaps: elk Subfonds mag de netto-opbrengst uit de
uitgifte van Participatiebewijzen op de Introductiedag beleggen in een of meer derivatencontracten in de vorm van funded swaps (de “Funded Swap”, of gezamenlijk te noemen “Funded Swaps”) die worden aangegaan met eersteklas financiële instellingen, zoals Credit Suisse International, die optreden als tegenpartij bij de swaptransactie. Het doel van de Funded Swap is om de netto-opbrengst uit te ruilen tegen de prestaties van de betreffende Onderliggende Index.
