Hoewel dit mijns insziens een zeer goede vertaling is van de term 'credit scoring' moet ik eerlijkheidshalve toch vermelden dat in mijn ervaring, opgedaan tijdens het werken voor een grote internationale creditcardmaatschappij, de term 'credit scoring' toch veelal in het Engels wordt gebruikt.

In the Netherlands, credit scoring such as FICO, is hardly being used. In the Netherlands an organization named BKR (Bureau that Registers Credits) provides information to credit offering organizations (banks, shops, credit card companies etc.) whether a client already has a credit agreement with other organizations, and whether the client pays his obligations in a timely manner. Based on this information BKR gives a certain category to a client.

Explanation:
Credit scoring, in my perception, is putting people in categories. BKR does this based on how much credit a person has, whether this person pays the payments on time, etc.

I also agree with ¨kredietwaardigheidsanalyse¨, which in the Netherlands consists of checking the data the person provides to the lender AND contact BKR. The total investigation gives a profound idea to the lender of the client´s financial situation. But the rating is provided by BKR.

Example: the lender requires that the client has a minimum income of 2,000euro per month, age, min 18, max 50, etc. If those requirements are met, then the lender contacts BKR, and mainly based on the BKR rating, the lender decides whether a loan, credit, etc, should be given to the client.

In my perspective, BKR toetsing is the translation of credit scoring in the Netherlands.
