Nogal wat googles hiervoor. Volgens mij is 'hechtenis' in het Noord-Nederlands een meer gebruikelijke term voor 'imprisonment'. 'Gevangenneming' riekt naar mijn gevoel meer naar oorlogssituaties, dus, in het Engels, zoiets als 'captivity'. Maar ik kan het natuurlijk mis hebben...
