This is from a general annual meeting slide presentation. The sentence goes: Continuing a multi-brand aproach to take advantage of both local and niche branding.

local = lokaal of 'thuis'
niche = niche of 'klein marktsegment'
--> 'lokale en niche (of marktgesegmenteerde) merken'

'Branding' is dermate ingeburgerd bij marketing managers etc, dat er maar zelden van 'van merken voorzien' gesproken wordt. Vandaar 'merken' tout court :)

In het PolyMarketing Zakboekje (uitgave van de Koninklijke PBNA) staat o.m. :

- 'Branders zijn de eigenaars van merken, afgeleid van branding= van merken voorzien' en

- '...strategieën van navolgers en strategieën van de niche- of klein marktsegment-zoeker...'
