English to Dutch translations [PRO] Medical
English term or phrase:To stop them dead in their tracks
It is strange because an appreciation of how diseases started is usually a key step toward understanding how to stop them dead in their tracks. (I wonder about the tranlation of the last part of the sentence)
- This translation is about viruses.
I think they want to say that knowlegde about the start of a virus infection is the key step in how to prevent the infection. Maybe you could use the verb "voorkomen" (hoe de infectie te voorkomen) or, if it's more popular tekst use de expression "in die kiem smoren" (hoe het virus in de kiem te smoren).
