English term or phrase: stand(d)own time
This is from minutes of a works council and the reps ask for standown time to report back to staff they represent. I don't know if the spelling provided in the original text (standown)is right, it could possibly be standdown.
Thanks for your help
Willemina
recuperatietijd
Explanation:
Stand(d)own: both are being used now, even though it comes from 'standdown', a military term describing the period a soldier is allowed to take a leave, especially when engaged in hostile activities, in order to take some rest, etc
en dus om wat te 'recupereren'.

De 'reps' vragen dus voldoende tijd vooraleer feedback te geven, een rapport uit te brengen enz.
