verlof / R&R (verlof) Explanation: R&R is simply leave. Officers are on R&R, their wives came to join them (in this case, I guess, the offices were not allowed to leave the mission area). In Dutch laager it is "verlof". My suggestion is as above. HTH I worked with a US military team. |
