Why debate whether this is Canada, or anywhere else for that matter? The asker has not even bothered to answer requests for context. Why waste time?

never read nor used "bureau des contributions" in Québec! In fact, if you search for "Tax Office" through the Website of the Ministère du revenu du Québec, you won't even get a result. The expression would rather translate by "Centre fiscal" ou "Bureau des services fiscaux" (which applies for Canada). The Ministry of Revenue of Ontario uses "bureau de l'impôt". Finally, "contributions" are usually called "cotisations" in Québec.

If you got that from GDT, then it's probably Canadian usage; but I don't think most people in the Hexagon would immediately understand what was meant — or might take it for the 'perception' (which this may or may not be, depending on the context)

Rough equivalent, OK, if no exact translation exists — but it would be nice to know exactly what was meant by the source term, so we can at least be sure we are roughly equivalent to the right thing!

GDT uses "bureau des contributions", so I hardly think this is BE French.
The Belgian term is "Recette des contributions".
And by definition, in this type of field, you have to make do with a rough equivalent, since the exact translation does not exist.

Tony is right, wording depends on country; Mr Fraipont's translation applies to Belgium, but here in France we speak of 'Centre des Impôts' or marginally 'Hôtel des Impôts'

I'm not sure that an exact equivalent exists in FR, so you may end up having to word around it.
