"Colton Commercials offers a container devanning service to customers. This is a service we have been running over the last 3 years, which has proven to be a success within our current customer base. We have trained staff to off load palletized containers, handball consignments or loads that have been refused or shot in transit. We offer the facility to re-stack, palletize goods and shrink wrap accordingly, and re-deliver in curtainsided trailers. We offer port collections, and restitutions points as per customer requests. We have the staff and ability to re-work goods, in order to meet customer expectations."

"Handballing is the action of manually loading or unloading a container, trailer, rigid or the general manual movement of bulk goods from one type of transport receptacle to another, especially pallets.[1]

Handballers are required due to the fact that far more goods can be loaded in a container loose than if they were palletised. Internal volume is lost due to the size of the pallet and the space that must be left to manoeuvre the loaded pallet into and out of the container. By employing handballers more goods can be transported, space wastage is minimised and profits are maximised."
