disagree  Merit: Sorry, but "for some time" refers to the length of time the forces were in action, not the historical period. And "medium term" is never le moyen age/ l'époque médievale, regardless of the context. It's more likely "à moyen terme."

  -> Je ne sais bien si la difference entre "aux" et "pendant" (ou "au cours de") est vraiment importante en ce cas. Quant'a "medium-term"? je suis sur qu'il s'agit justement de "moyen-age": notez "ancient" et l'objet general de la question. Merci.

  -> Je suis d'accord que la traduction de "medium-term" comme " Moyen-Age" est assez inhabituelle, mais c'est la thematique de la question qui me vient confondre...N'est tout cela que les particularites stylistiques de l'auteur du texte?
