English term or phrase: slow
Above and beyond
I wasn't able to talk that day. But I had my fists sunk deep into my coat. It's always that way. Whenever I see people, I can say nothing. And the street was fast and full of people. And she was beside me. So I couldn't find anything to say. But it was a good day for us. We were in the city and she had money. And she was as slow as I was. It was cold. Her knuckles were crushed and red.

Explanation:
Sorry, on the 'fast' I was still thinking in German and forgot that this was asking for French. See my explanation on the "Fast" and for 'fast' I would say: La rue était 'vive'.
