Dans un descriptif d'étude:

" Design:
Patients were first asked to consume a margarine without PS for a period of 5-week (run-in period).
They were then randomly allocated to one of the 3 following groups: the 1st group continued with the control margarine, the second one with a plant sterol-enriched margarine (2.5 g plant sterols/d) and the 3rd group with a plant stanol-enriched margarine (2.5 g plant stanols/d). They were asked to consume their margarine for 85 weeks.
Blood samples were collected at week 4-5 and 89-90. Cholesterol blood levels and lutein/zeaxanthin concentrations were analysed.
Moreover the Macular Pigment Optical Density (MPOD), which is a marker of ARMD, was measured at week 5 and week 90.
Data on 47 subjects were available for analysis.

 Results:
A reduction in ***cholesterol-standardized serum lutein/zeaxanthin concentrations*** was observed at the end of the study compared to baseline."

Pour l'expression entre ***, je crois saisir de quoi il s'agit, mais je ne connais pas d'expression "consacrée" équivalente en français. Je ne trouve pas non plus de formulation à moitié claire et fluide.

Une diminution des concentrations en zéaxanthine et lutéine dans le cholestérol sérique normalisé...

Concentration sérique : sérique est l'adjectif du nom sérum. La concentration sérique d'un élément est sa concentration dans le sérum tout simplement. Pour rappel, le sérum correspond au plasma exempt de tout ce qui a participé au processus de coagulation.

Asker: Merci pour les explications, mais ma vrai interrogation est sur le sens que tu donnes à "normalisé". Moi, je ne lui connais que le sens de "mis dans la norme", et je ne suis pas sûr que ce soit le sens du texte source. (voir mes explications) Il ne me semble pas qu'ici on agisse sur le cholestérol. Il me semble que "standardized" qualifie "concentrations" plutôt que "cholesterol".
