English term or phrase: proficiency
Certificate of Proficiency in English
I'm looking for an equivalent word for 'proficiency' in French, and with the meaning of 'high degree of skill or expertise', not just 'competence'
Thanks a lot for your help.
Certificate of Proficiency in English [Certificat de maîtrise de la langue Anglaise]
HERE "proficiency" on its own is meaningless;
the term to translate is the whole of the title of this diploma:
Certificate of Proficiency in English
I would leave it as it is, with a translation/explanation added in brackets
