câble identifié Explanation: In the absence of greater context, I can only assume it refers to testing a part of the circuit up to the point where a cable has been positively traced or identified. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 14 hrs (2008-07-12 08:37:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Regarding Proelec's comment about the 'trace heating' idea — I do totally agree that this is very likely, but am still puzzled about the use of 'traceD cables' in Asker's context. Note that in both the first 2 refs. kindly cited in the ATA box, the expression used is 'trace cables' — the use of 'traced... suggests more 'the item that has trace heating (etc.)' I think Proelec must be right on this one, and the only thing I can think is that perhaps this is in fact some special system that uses trace wires on electrical cables — perhaps it is some kind of secondary monitoring loop, for example, to detect a damaged cable where the primary conductor cannot be used for remote sensing. In which case, it would of course then make perfect sense! |
