English term or phrase:thyristor drive
Yes, I understand. This term is used in a table listing the main components of an electrical circuit (so not a sentence). I think it's more like your second suggestion "here is the thyristor drive module", it's a concrete piece of equipment
Please can you give us the whole sentence in which this is being used, or if it's not in a sentence, then explain the way it is being used. The reason I ask this is because on its own like this, the term could be understood in several different ways, which might each require subtly different translations.
In particular, are we talking about 'the principle of driving using thyristors' — as, for example, in a sentence like "Thyristor drive is used for its reliability and effciiency"? Or are we talking more "this is the thyristor drive module"?
Do you see the fine distinction I'm trying to make?
