English term or phrase:shot
je traduis des recettes de cocktails et le mot "shot" me pose problème :
Bloody Mary. The tomato gives it a taste that lies somewhere between savoury and spicy and a shot of lemon adds a fresh fruity depth.
Ingredients: 2 cl lemon juice
4 cl vodka
1 pinch of pepper and salt
2–6 dashes Tabasco
5–9 dashes Worcestershire sauce
I agree with you, the fact that the actual measure is given has to rule out certain terms that would otherwise appear to be in conflict.
'shot' here in EN means 'a noticeable quantity' — and do note that 'a shot' is also a measure, albeit usually used informally; one might well say here that the 'shot' is 2 cl, and that the vodak is therefore a 'double'
