English term or phrase: born c.
Help everybody! I have to translate things that have to do with young music bands and there is a lot of terminology i am not familiar with (too old??). Here is the whole sentence: Phillipa "Pip" Brown (born c. 1981), better known by her stage name Ladyhawke. What does the "c." after born mean? Thanks

Explanation:

disagree  Tony M: Maybe it does, but I really don't think the translator should simply sweep aside a detail like this!

Explanation:

c. = circa = environ
