iliac / protruding glacier

\Il"i*ac\, a. [Cf. F. iliaque. See {Ileum}, and cf. {Jade}
a stone.]
1. (Anat.) Pertaining to, or in the region of, the ilium, or
dorsal bone of the pelvis; as, the iliac artery. [Written
also {ileac}.]

Damages amounted to a chip off my hip bone (the Iliac Crest - that bony protruding part)

Protruding is a good word there.

1) Is it a typo?
2) Use a specialised dictionary.

Note: no hits for "glacier iliac" or "iliac glacier" on Google, nothing on GDT, nothing in Robert Collins general.

I think "iliac" IS used in the expression you have in the sense outlined above though, ie protruding, or fin-like.

This is interesting too, maybe use \"crest\" instead? \"Glacier with an ilaic crest\"?

Expressions using \"crest\": cedar Crest ♦ Cnemial crest ♦ crest fallen ♦ Crest Hill ♦ CREST Syndrome ♦ Crest tile ♦ dam crest ♦ East Hazel Crest ♦ flood crest ♦ Hazel Crest ♦ ***iliac crest*** ♦ Interior crest ♦ Neural Crest ♦ Pine Crest ♦ Wildwood Crest.

Additional references.
