English term or phrase:back in China
From the narration of a documentary: "Back in China, Mr. Wu is an example of this." The "back in China" does not refer to Mr. Wu (he's been there all along), but to the narration itself, as the documentary had covered China before and now returns to this subject.
The translator put: "M. Wu, de retour en Chine, en est un exemple". It seems to me that this would rather mean Wu has returned to China. How would you clarify this?
"revenons en Chine" and "pour en revenir à la Chine" are more elegant and would be my choice if I didn't have to satisfy the needs of subtitling (which, as I see just now, I failed to say). The original expression being very short, the other two options were more suitable in this case. In the end, I went for "en Chine", forgetting about the actual problem of translating "back" because this documentary returns to places covered before so often that pointing it out in just one instance in the narration/subtitling didn't seem to make much sense. But otherwise the "retour en" is a good solution for "back in" and I'll keep it in mind.
Anyway, thanks for your help everybody!

Revenons en Chine maintenant où notre M. Wu en est un bel exemple
Explanation: Since it's the narration of a documentary, I would have something like :
Revenons en Chine maintenant où notre M. Wu en est un bel exemple" (end of the sentence depending on what follows).
