English to French translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - IT (Information Technology) / security systems, access control
English term or phrase:phantom binning
It is very difficult to give context for this as there is not much! This term is taken from an operations manual for a security software program which monitors perimeter fences for disturbances, etc.
There has been much talk of 'bins' and the paragraph where this term appears is as follows:
"Settings in the Low Pass Filter Parameters tab are used to counter a phenomenon called ‘Phantom Binning’. When looking at the F10 Window, if there are events occurring in Bins that are uniformly spaced,
the LPF Enable toggle may need to be selected (see Fig 100). Use the default settings if enabling this functionality. Do not use this feature if there is no Phantom Binning as it will consume system resources."
So they seem to be equating it with a low pass filter (filtre passe-bas): "LPF Enabled = Enable Phantom Binning Filter".
Is anyone familiar with this term and what its French equivalent might be? Thank you!
