N.B. I found "doyen des juges" in the dictionary but in my experience there can be more than one senior judge, it is not necessarily the oldes judge. In the US fed cts a judge can take "senior status" at age 70 and have a reduced case load. I was thinking of something like "à la pré-retraite".
