Explanation:
P.S. Don't forget that the English term "damages" includes interest, thus has to be translated by "dommages et intéret" here for breach of contract ("rupture de contrat"). Effectively the type of "dommages et intéret" claimed for, entitles the party suffering the prejudice to seek financial compensation to recover what it would have had (possibly profit, but not necessarily) if things had worked out.
