Explanation:
Art and artistry are translated with the same word in French. Artistry is more like "skill" or "dexterity". In that sense, you could also use the word "habileté" or "adresse", or dextérité. But I personally prefer "art" as a translation, especially when it comes to music, as it means what it means and covers a large scope. (But if you think from the context that they are talking about the dexterity of the musician and the development of this dexterity, then you could use one of those other words.)
