English to French translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.) / decking & railing
English term or phrase: joist, stringer
Construction d'escalier en bois, l'un deux deux termes est peut être "limon". Voici des phrases du contexte (mots cherchés volontairement mis en majuscules) :

Max JOIST spacing is 12" on center. Make sure there is at least one STRINGER for support on the middle of the stair span. Attach the riser board on the front of the bottom step using 2 screws ... at each JOIST STRINGER. Fasten the 1st stair tread plank into place, using 1 screw .... per stair STRINGER.

disagree  Proelec: Pour moi, "joist" --> solive, puisqu'il s'agit de bois. Autrement (métallique) -->poutre ou poutrelle Confirmé par le Ernst. Pour "stringer" je ne sais pas.
