The solid pyrosylate residue, such as **carbonaceous char**, is discharged from the unit through an output stage, which like the input stage, is characterized by a bivalve arrangement to prevent unwanted introduction of air into the pyrolytic chamber.

Le coke est fabriqué par pyrolyse du charbon. La pyrolyse du charbon signifie que
le charbon a chauffé dans une atmosphère exempte d’oxygène pour produire des
gaz, des liquides et un résidu solide (résidu charbonneux ou coke).
