English term or phrase: survey pin
Apparently, you'd often found "survey pins" or "marker pins" (I'm guessing they are similar) while using a metal detector.

Although Google Image is often to understand what these pins are, I can't find a proper French translation.

Are they called "balise géodésique" ?

Here are a few examples:

"Magnetic survey pins, can be found at a distance of several metres."

"A magnetic marker pin that is close to the surface can appear to have multiple peaks as the detector passes above it."

Thanks in advance
