English term or phrase: subgingival scaling
I am revising a text from another translator.
Subgingival scaling (and also just scaling)
was translatted as
détartrage sous gingival

I am not quite sure if it is OK due to context.
Topic: human guided bone growth with a demineralised bovine bone matrix.
So after the surgery 6-8 weeks later there can be a " desquamation" of the tissue (no tooth brushing for 6-8 weeks)
Please advice

-> thrilling... to think i am due for one.... yuck.

disagree  xxxdf49f: contre-sens: scaling = entartrage/tartre - détartrage is what the dentist does to remove it// I did...

-> may I suggest you check a basic FR-EN online dictionnary before making such an assertion?
