Explanation:
Hi, LIz

I am not sure that a kid (or an adult person) would say it that way. Don't you think that any one playing a video game would say: "I am playing a game of Doom," and so on? So, in French, I reckon I would say: je suis en train de jouer une partie/un match de Doom....

Hope it helped.

je joue sur Nintendo

Explanation:
La préposition qui revient le plus souvent pour les consoles de jeux vidéo est "sur". On parle ainsi de jeux "sur Nintendo", de jeux "sur Dreamcast", etc.

Je joue sur la/ma Nintendo

Explanation:
I think kids add the article too or say whose it is : "I am playing on the/my Nintendo" which gives "Je joue sur la/ma Nintendo".

I agree that the choice of proposition should be "on", thus "sur". That's what my young neighbour says!

Je joue au Nintendo. (What are you doing this afternoon? I am playing Nintendo.)
Je suis en train de jouer au Nintendo. (What are you doing right now? I am playing Nintendo.)

P.S. I have never seen it used with la (la Nintendo).

Hope it helps!
