Explanation: I would say "La Concubine" also, if you wnat a direct translation (See Louis Second version of the French Bible.); "Maitresse" is Mistress, if you want to convey the idea of a kept woman; however if you wanted something a bit more romantic, I would go with "Le Paramour" or "L'Amante" which both mean, "lover".
