Une applique murale Explanation: Dominique, If you refer to a “wall-mounted luminaire/ light”, this is called an “une applique” or “une applique murale”. Now, a downlight being a lighting unit that directs the light downward and can be surface mounted, the French equivalent would be “un luminaire à éclairage dirigé vers le bas” ou “un luminaire éclairant vers le bas”. applique murale Explanation: You could also say applique murale d'éclairage if it really has to be very explicit, but normally not necessary as une applique is always for this purpose Good work ! Karin |
