Thank you for your assistance, I had to phone a hotel in Paris, I find it's better to at least make an effort to use the local language if you can.

Explanation: It's very honorable of you to make an effort and speak French! A lot of people wouldn't even try and as you probably know, the French appreciate foreigners who make the effort to speak French.
