C'est formidable! On est envahi! Explanation: SNOW Slang: To overwhelm with insincere talk, especially with flattery. On est envahi! envahir: to invade, to overcome envahi par la neige: snowed in Overcome (seduced) sounds great here, because of the bier :-) That is why i propose you to use this expression! It would sound good in the commercial. The begin of the phrase (Isn't it great?) I'd better say in fench simply "It's great!" C'est cool, on est dans la neige jusqu'au cou Explanation: Je ne vois pas vraiment de jeu de mot dans la phrase anglaise (je note juste une petite analogie de sonorité entre great et in et un nombre de pieds identique pour les deux termes du slogan), mais je connais mal l'argot et comme chacun y va de son couplet, je m'y mets aussi : la neige c'est plus que cool c'est froid. I can't offer a translation, but I can say that Explanation: 1. There is no play on words here. None this native speaker sees. 2. The meaning of "snowed in" is "unable to leave because of the snow". 3. If this line goes with a photo that shows the snow, it may not be necessary to make explicit reference to snow in the French text. I'd just go with the most natural thing a French speaker would say to mean "We're stuck here!", whether it includes "neige" or not. |
