English term or phrase:Cryogenic Turbo Expander Plant
"A project recently completed in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina features an 8 million cubic metres per day Cryogenic Turbo Expander Plant, expandable to 12 million cubic metres per day. It is designed to operate at -80 degrees Celsius and will recover liquefied petroleum gases (LPGs) at 98 percent propane recovery."
And here is a description by the plant engineering company:
"Propak engineers, manufacturers and constructs Turbo-Expander Process Units which are designed to extract Ethane (C2) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas ( LPG ) from raw natural gas streams. A Turbo-Expander process unit is typically utilized for high levels of product recovery when ethane or propane are extracted from natural gas or refinery gas streams. The Turbo-Expander process utilizes pressure reduction and complex heat exchangers in order to achieve the cryogenic temperature levels required in the process, which will result in high liquid product recovery levels."
