usher (noun) = an usher (male) is the person who shows you to or ushes you to your seat in a cinema/theatre (placeur), or an usherette (female). More generally the person who helps you find your way around the cinéma or theatre. At a public meeting, an usher is the "membre du service d'ordre", it can also be a doorkeeper (portier), or in a court of law (huissier).

usher (vt) = faire avancer /sortir qqchn, introduire/faire entrer, reconduire qqchn (à la porte = usher someone to the door/ usher someone out)
