English to French translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering
English term or phrase:hold baggage screening (HBS) ; clear/unclear
Actually, it deals with airport equipment for inspecting the baggages, aiming at airport safety. I think the translation for "hold baggage" is "bagage de soute", but does someone know the the formal term for "HBS" ? What about clear/unclear ? (I understand the meaning but I still haven't found the correct translation)
"screening process begins when the baggage enters the HBS equipement through crosing IR detector cells on the infeed conveyor belt"
"The overall security objective of an HBS equipment is that only non-dangerous baggage is loaded in the aircraft baggage compartments. The security objective is so related in the baggage and their status (clear/unclear)"
Explanation: Oops, sorry, I forgot to add this to my previous explanation on HBS. You were also asking for "clear/unclear". It took me a while, but I found the translation, which I printed above. You may like to compare the two sites below, where they talk about cleared baggage.
