Customer Usability Testing
Found in some work instructions. The company is ISO certified, and the field is telecommunications (and software for telecommunications).
Alberto Delgarde
essai de convivialité or vérification d'utilisabilité
Explanation:
Dear Alberto, in informatics, user-friendly is rendered by "convivial". If your customer prefers a term closer to English, use "vérification d'utilisabilité". Some customers like to stick closely to the original text, it gives them a feeling that the translation is correct.

As far as "customer" goes, you can drop this, as most software programs are designed for a "customer" (end user) of some sort (though some software is strictly in-house, for employees only). If you prefer using "customer", I suggest that you say "essai de convivialité à l'intention du client". However, that makes is "une tournure très lourde".

I hope I was able to help you with your terms and I am looking forward to communicate with you again.
Greetings,
Connie

Thank you so much! That was the first answer I got, and it was the best! Sorry for not giving you points earlier: I have been really busy. Last night and tonight, I have graded, or I'm going to grade, the answers to all my questions, unless nobody provided any half-decent answer to a particular question.

Test d'utilisabillité par les clients

Explanation:
http://dmi.ensica.fr/cfip2000/tutoriaux.htm

http://www.ibsen.fr/tests.htm

I agree that the word "customer" might be somewhat redundant. The customer is really the user, and this word is included in the word "usability". Nevertheless, since they used it in English, I would also use it in French.
