Absolutely ! I spent a bit of time looking round for this one and when you do a websearch for "pushing back the envelope", you will get lots of hits. This led me on to "pushing" (as opposed to pulling). Here is a webref which explains what it's all about, effectively a type of distribution

As for the French, then maybe "distribution multidestinataire" works. It is probably not the right term but may push you in the right direction?
