English to French translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering
English term or phrase:resistance to lacing
Context: adding of a pigment to a plastic + extrusion of plastics
screenpack performance and resistance to lacing and discoloration at high processing temperatures...
Does lacing here mean formation of filaments?
Any explanations welcome.
Explanation: "lacing: Tying insulated wires together to support each other and form a single neat cable, with separately laced branches"
Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, Mac Graw HIll
I guess in the context of extrusion the extruded wires could unexpectedly get melt together, in which case "toronage" could fit, or perhaps simply "adhésion".
Less probable but perhaps possible: when exiting the dye,the colored plastic could have stripes of different coulurs, which could suggest the appearance of lacing wires
I found no occurrences on the Internet, but I guess you have already looked with the usual tools.
