XXX is based on an old school basketball shoe for both boys and girls. Use of a comfort sock liner brings a more sculpted form to the foot, which shy away from the ‘phat’ b-ball shoes of old. The XXX features a pronounced swoosh, which fades into a colour complementing the sole’s stitching.

Nike abandonne le swoosh aux États-Unis

Le célèbre logo en forme de virgule de Nike, le «swoosh», va disparaître à terme des campagnes de communication de l'équipementier sportif aux États-Unis. Seules certaines lignes de produits le conserveront. Créé par une étudiante en design au début des années 70, il sera remplacé par une identité visuelle tout aussi ancienne, le «script logo» (le nom en minuscules) qui a été utilisé lors du lancement de la marque en 1971. Ce tournant intervient au moment où Nike enregistre de mauvais résultats. Ses bénéfices ont chuté de 49,7% au cours du dernier exercice 1997-1998. Néanmoins, le «swoosh» incarnera toujours la marque hors des États-Unis.
