"1933 mußten Weill und seine Frau, die Schauspielerin und Sängerin Lotte Lenya, aus Deutschland zunächst nach Paris und 1935 in die USA.
Für den Broadway komponierte Weill mehrere Musicals, darunter Knickerbocker Holiday (1938), Lady in the Dark (1941), One Touch of Venus (1943), Street Scene (1947) und Lost in the Stars (1949) sowie die Volksoper Street Scene (1946) und die Schuloper Down in the Valley (1948)."

Ich denke, "Down in the Valley" wird nicht übersetzt, da es, wie gesagt, für den Broadway (und in der New Yorker Emigration) komponiert wurde.
Ich glaube, Weill hat den Titel der Oper ganz bewusst im Englischen gelassen.
