Ma could stand for middle ages
27 a repetition of the hight
09 for 09th century.

I found one link in the web (URL below):

Then my 9th century would be wrong or BC? There are no standard codes, every museum, etc. creates their own. They should be explained in the catalogue.

Not much help, I'm afraid. Wish I could see the artifact.
