Saturn is immensely heavy, but not very dense. If you could find an ocean of water large enough to put Saturn in, the planet would float!

Saturn ist sehr schwer, aber nicht besonders .......

dicht hört sich blöd an und stimmt wohl auch nicht.

Der Text ist für Kinder, es soll also ein Begriff sein, den sie auch verstehen. Sonst denken sie , wir Erwachsenen sind nicht ganz dicht.

agree  bambam: Stimme Manuela und edinas absolut zu. Auch wenn der Text für Kinder ist, die Dichte ist m.E. der richtige Begriff und paßt zu dem nachfolgenden "float-Beispiel". Kinder, die sich für Astronomie interessieren, verstehen das auch.

neutral  bambam: @Nicole: vorsicht mit "fest", die Festigkeit eines Stoffes hängt nicht zwingend mit der Dichte zusammen. Titan hat eine deutlich geringere Dichte als Blei, aber eine sehr viel höhere "Festigkeit" bzw. Härte.
