Unfortunately I don’t have any context. This is one of three terms in a table, all of which were extracted from a Flash file which I don’t have access to. They all read as follows:
- wire-on molding
- wire-on cordless molding
- wire-on drip molding
My idea is that those are some sort of „Zierleiste“ in a ragtop. The following page uses this term and even shows some images:

Explanation:
Die Abbildung 22 bringt mich auf folgende Idee:
"to wire-on" bedeutet wahrscheinlich, mit einem Heftklammerapparat befestigen, denn es besteht ein enger zusammenhang zwischen "wire" und diesen Bostitch-Klammern.

Erklärungsversuche:
cordless = schnurlos. Vermutlich gibt es solche Formteile, die wie z.B. in einer Hohlnaht eine Schnur drinnen haben, damit das Resultat runder, voller, schöner aussieht.
drip hat wahrscheinlich mit Wasserablauf zu tun. Siehe ERNST: drip moulding (mot.veh) = Regenrinne (was mich auf die Idee bringt, molding überhaupt mit Rinne zu übersetzen, es ist ja lt. Bild eine Rinne).
