English to German translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Automotive / Cars & Trucks / Division Names of an automotive parts manufacturer
English term or phrase: Motors, Engines
Two more division names from the automotive parts manufacturer's website. What's a good way to differentiate between Motors and Engines? Elektromotoren und Verbrennungsmotoren? Again, if the client wants these division names translated at all. I will have to ask them.
TIA,
Kristina

German translation:Elektromotoren, Verbrennungsmotoren
Explanation:
Good guess! In the US automotive industry, these terms are often used as follows:
Motor -> Elektromotor
Engine -> Verbrennungsmotor.

Es ist aber, wie du schon erwähnst, durchaus möglich, dass dies als Abteilungsname gar nicht übersetzt werden soll.
