English to German translations [PRO] Bus/Financial
English term or phrase:delist
More business jargon, this time using a verb as a noun, i.e. "delist" rather than "delisting". It means being removed removed from a company's trading books.
aus dem Sortiment nehmen oder Aufhebung der Boersenzulassung
Explanation: I'm not quite sure what is being delisted, but here are my 2cents:
A brand being delisted would be 'aus dem Sortiment nehmen'
or as a noun: Entfernung/Herausnahme aus dem Sortiment.
anything else being delisted/taken out of a list would be
'Entfernung/Streichung aus einer Liste'
and if this should have anything to do with stocks:
'Aufhebung/Entzug der Boersenzulassung/Zulassung an der Boerse'
Eurodicatom Routledge dictionary of Bus., Com, and Fin.
Explanation: I found only one possible explanation of delist, i..e. the company's stock market listing is revoked or cancelled.
Schäfer, Hyperbook Wirtschaftsenglisch, gives the following translations:
(Bö) Aufhebung f der Börsenzulassung
delist a stock v
(Bö) aus der Börsennotierung streichen (eg, the stock may . . .)
And from Zahn, Bank- und Börsenwesen:
delist = nicht mehr an der Börse notieren
This would seem to correspond to the definition you give.
