hervorragende/beste Sachkenntniszuechtung Explanation: expertise=Sachkenntnisse, Expertise best= breed=1. erzeugen 2. entstehen 3. zuechten 4. fig. hervorrufen, entstehen lassen 5. aufziehen, erziehen, ausbilden 6. Herkunft, Stamm, Schlag 7. Zucht, Rasse 8. brueten, aushecken best=hervorragen 2. am besten, am meisten, am vorteilhaftesten 3. geeignetst, passendst 4. uebertreffen 5. the best of-zufriedengeben mit, sich abfinden mit, einer Sache die beste Seite abgewinnen (nur um einige Redewendungen darzustellen) Now, this list is not exhaustive. There are more, but I thought that from this something can be put together, which fits your context e.g. was sie (dir Firma) als die "best-gebrueteten/erzeugten Sachkenntnisse" bezeichnet oder: die "hervorragend-ausgebildete" Fachkraefte (statt Expertise) usw. This is not easy. Good luck, Lis Muret-Sanders |

"die Besten im Fach" oder "best of breed" Explanation: "best of breed" is one of those Anglo-Saxon expressions which has been taken out of it's normal context and used with the same meaning in another, this time business, context. If you query "best of breed" under German at Alta Vista, you will get over 100 hits like the ones below, mostly business sites and mostly sites where "best of breed" is not translated: http://www.ccrm.org/fachmeta.htm http://www.sun.at/SunPR/SunNews/1999/10-99/Schwerpunkt_7.htm... http://www.atlanticresearch.com/media/handelsblattde.htm Use of the term started in animal judgings at fairs and exihibitions for dogs, cats, pigs, cows, etc. There are two such expressions "best of breed" and "best of show". One animal is picked by the judges as best of its breed (Rasse). Literally "Rassesieger". There might be then 10 to 50 or more "best of breed" animals of any one show, all execellent examples but all different. Then usually one of these winning animasl is often picked as "best of show". Here are examples: http://www.crawler.net/deutscher-schaeferhund/calvin/welcome... http://www.catshome.de/holzwer/ofbluecastle/zertifik.shtml In the business sense, "best of breed" is used together with expertise to mean that the person mentioned is the best expert in her/his field. They are not "all-rounders", they are the best in their field. In your context: Company xy has an excellent track record of integration management. Based on what it calls "best of breed-expertise", subtantial synergies can be released allowing management to declare acquisitions to be earnings enhancing right from the scratch means that the integration management team is made up of the most highly qualified/successful experts in their various fields (accounting, controlling, advertising, marketing, sales, production, research etc), allowing synergies frome one field to flow to all the others. In German one might call these cracks: "die Besten im Fach" or "die Beste in Ihrer Klasse". - HTH - Dan |
