German translation: das Schlüsselwort ist "being", Steffen!

"With the conflict in Iraq being resolved and oil prices coming down, the focus for Asia Pacific equity markets will return to the outlook for the global economy."

Heißt das hier, daß der Konflikt "gelöst ist" und gleichzeitig die Ölpreise sinken? Das halte ich eigentlich für verfüht und würde in dem Fall schreiben "With the conflict in Iraq resolved".

Deshalb tendiere ich bei "being resolved" eher zu "mit zunehmender Entspannung des Irak-Konfliktes".

Was meint Ihr dazu?

"With the conflict in Iraq being resolved..." ist vielleicht etwas zweideutig, aber nicht wirklich. der Autor beschreibt Dinge, die im Moment geschehen. Daher ist Dein Tipp mit der "zunehmenden Entspannung" absolut richtig - und keine Sonntagsfrage!

Explanation:
"conflict" wird im Englischen auch oftmals als Synonym für "Krieg" benutzt (es klingt etwas freundlicher). "Resolved" wiederum kann auch als Synonym für "beendet" benutz werden. Dein "zunehmende Entspannung" ist gut aber eine Änderung der Bedeutung des ursprünglichen Texts, imM.
