English term or phrase: one-step-ahead forecast
In the context of statistical forecasts, is there a particular term for this in German?

schrittweise Prognose

Explanation:
Even though the term itself is not used in that combination on Google, there are siome sites that show this to be the right translation (I think).

weitblickende Voraussage (Prognose)

Explanation:
Suggests "looking across the valley", discounting the immediate future in making a prediction––the way I read it.

"being a step ahead" = being early to recognize a trend.

einen Schritt voraus - Prognose

Explanation:
I don't think that you can tranlate the term as such.

I would change the whole sentence, which I can only guess.

Mit unseren statistisch fundierten Prognosen sind wir (immer) einen Schritt voraus. ... something like that.

Trendprognose

Explanation:
"Trend" is a tendency which is not yet established, to be "one step ahead" would imply that one is able to read and recognise the tendency, and give some prognosis from it.
