October which suggests we may be going higher again before we take a more significant correction, but the market still seems to be in a near-term peak­ing pattern from the rally that started in March of this year.

This comes from the technical analysis (you know, head-and-shoulder etc.), the basic assumption is that price rises are always followed by a correction (price drops) and, in this case, the expectation is that this shall come within short. It is something like: the share price curve (taking account of the volumes as well) behaves in a way indicating that a peak is very close.

I don't think there is necessarily a German equivalent - this looks rather City talk to me.
